The winner wins an epic spring break or summer holiday courtesy of US travel agency Student City who are partnered with Ian Erix on the project.
Based in New York but moulded by extensive world travel thanks to a fascinating music career that’s taken him around the globe, Ian Erix is a colourful character who brings to mind the extroverted stage presences of Lady Gaga and Panic! At The Disco. His pop music is influenced by the contrasting worlds of EDM and punk, all the while retaining its accessibility and radio friendly nature – pleasing to both steadfast and casual music fans alike.
Having been featured on MTV and radio stations around the world, his new single ‘Shangri-La’ is set to be his first single from a new album which is coming soon. Based on a daydream about a perfect utopian paradise, the lyrics describe an idyllic escape from the world, direct from the weird and wonderful imagination of Ian Erix.
The single and competition will be the start of an exciting summer period for Erix, who is looking to continue his run of performances at festivals around the world, the highlight of which was sharing a stage with David Guetta on New Year’s Eve in Rio de Janeiro in front of a live crowd of 2.5 million people.
With those live gigs on the horizon and an album on the way too, it’s set to be the hottest summer yet for Ian Erix. ‘Shangri-La’ will be released on June 1st.
