Mancunian genre-meddlers Liam Browne & The Love release bouncy indie anthem ‘Baby Grow’ (and new album Forget & Remember)

The music is raw and unpretentious, juxtaposed with the vocals, which have an idiosyncratic style and are consistently engaging, while the lyrics are intriguing and intelligent.”

– Nigel Colley, Reflex Artists

‘Liam is a born front man who always looks like he’s playing to a stadium’

Rowetta of the Happy Mondays

Having found themselves a cult following in Manchester, unsigned genre-meddling indie act Liam Browne & The Love seem destined to take on the rest of the country with their eclectic and nutty Northern-rooted sound.

Straight off their upcoming album Forget & Remember, their brand new single ‘Baby Grow’ is an upbeat and bouncy indie rock anthem that provides a small taster of the band’s large sonic scope. A music video is set to drop soon.

Stream ‘Baby Grow’ on Soundcloud here:

Delivered with a raw and untamed Mancunian attitude, the album Forget & Remember is a crazy cocktail of lad rock, hip hop, folk and electronica all recorded in guitarist James Fraser’s garage (later mixed at Noise Boy Studios). Rowetta of the legendary Happy Mondays appears on two of the record’s tracks.

The group have an unusual origin story – frontman Liam was in the Amazon and a Shaman convinced him to sing for the first time initiating his aspirations as a vocalist and a songwriter. He met fellow member James at a Shamanic workshop the following year and from that point on they started making music together.

On top of his work as a musician, Liam Browne has starred in a number of cult movies including acclaimed raunchy Brit flick brilliantlove. He is close to Stereophonics lead singer Kelly Jones after taking the lead role in his music videos for ‘Violins and Tambourines’ and ‘In the Moment’.

I naively feel like Scorsese finding his De Niro

– Kelly Jones of Stereophonics, whilst directing Liam Browne in one of his music videos

Adding to his eventful background, Liam was involved in a near-fatal accident that almost prevented the band from ever coming to be. Whilst jacking his car up by the side of the M60, the vehicle dropped on top of him, leaving him trapped beneath it for two hours. It was only due to breathing techniques learnt though yoga that he was able to conserve oxygen and survive.

Forget & Remember is out 2nd October. Beck, Badly Drawn Boy, Kelly Jones and Rowetta all already own copies of the unreleased album.

The single ‘Baby Grow’ is out 2nd September

Speed Autobahn’s Fresh off the Press Thrilling New Single ‘Live it Up’

LISTEN HERE: https://soundcloud.com/speed-autobahn/03-live-it-up-feat-stormi-palmer-ezo

A fresh, fast paced and high-energy fusion of Electronica dance and Hip Hop reminiscent of artists Pitbull and Florida perfectly describes the fantastic new single by Speed Autobahn.

After the death of a close friend he was moved to create a song in his honour, taking inspiration from his friend’s popular saying ‘live everyday like it’s your last’ he named the track ‘Live it Up’.

“To hear him say, “I don’t do music for the hood, I do music for the world,” had me hype and if you know me you know I don’t need extra energy, but that’s what you feel through his music, energized!!!”

– Shelneka Adams, empire radio magazine

“ I never thought he could combine the styles of EDM and Hip Hop and Take it somewhere past were Pitbull has taken it, no disrespect to Pitbull, but a younger and newer wave”

–  Jay “the Great” Gatsby, The Royal Takeover Radio Show

Currently living in Manhattan, New York Speed Autobahn has been driving audiences so wild that both men and women have ripped their shirts off as they danced and raved. Performing in some of New York’s most famous venues such as Harlem Shrine, Santos House Party, Brooklyn’s Paperbox and also Fame Festival in Atlanta, GA he was introduced to the rapper Fat Joe earlier this year who encouraged him to aim for the skies with his art, saying “ your friends and family are not your fans, focus on creating music that people from all over can appreciate and love”. Having toured with the punk rock band and his producer Danny Switchblade, speaks a lot about the immense quality of music they express together.

In addition to his fantastic accolade his music has been featured on the award winning YouTube web series “Ghetto Nerd Girl” Speed Autobahn is set to tear his way up the music industry.

The Princess of DIY Pop – Linah set to release peppy single ‘This Is What You Get’

A bit of a different sound than our usual stuff but we love it!

Multifaceted pop songstress Linah is demonstrating her songwriting and production skills with her exhilarating debut single ‘This Is What You Get’

Having taught herself the art of mastering her own tracks in the studio as well as performing and writing them, Linah is a quirky young woman who impresses her audience with an extraordinary amount of energy and talent.  She supported American R&B artist Anthony Hamilton at the O2 in London in 2012 and is now ready to roll on to foster her own musical career.

‘This Is What You Get’ is a catchy pop song that the singer wrote about how relationships with boyfriends, family or friends can turn out to be difficult sometimes and the lyrics derived from there. “I started to think of all the times I’ve been in a relationship with someone who didn’t treat me the way I’d liked to have been treated”, she explains.

Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peL15x9cCWU

Linah hasn’t always been as outgoing as she is now. As a child, she suffered from speech impediment and severe anxiety which gave her a hard time at school. The singer mostly kept to herself and was only ever really comfortable around animals. “I got picked on throughout my school years and had no friends for a good few years”, she says. The hardship of not fitting in eventually propelled her to start making music. Linah remembers: “I started to teach myself how to sing at eight years of age by mimicking all these fabulous singers I heard on the radio. I really found solitude and home in music as I didn’t fit in anywhere and I sure didn’t want to!” Her talent and artistic characteristics have always been visible. At school she was once voted “Most Likely To Make It As A Singer”.

Like for so many young girls at the time, her first real musical inspiration and the reason she wanted to become a singer were the Spice Girls. However, it wasn’t until she discovered the king of pop, Michael Jackson, that her whole world would turn upside down and she’d give herself completely into working on a musical career for herself. “He hypnotised me! To me, he was a god of music. It seemed as though he was channelling the very source of sound and performing it to everyone of us in a language we could all understand!”

She drew a lot of inspiration from artists like James Brown or Diana Ross. But she has always been open to discovering new genres and remembers being a lot into bands like Rage Against The Machine at one point during her adolescence.

However, her love for catchy pop tunes has eventually taken over in the creation of her own songs.

The single ‘This Is What You Get’ is out on 3rd May 2016.

21st April – the Alley Cats Bar, Denmark Street

24th April – Allsortz, Rich Mix Shoreditch

BowLDN more than ready to release new single ‘Survivor’

Powerful track set for release on June 22nd

11119074_10152667121781315_1716026069_n

BowLDN based in South West London, he is a solo artist and producer who is no stranger to going against the wave. Working hard to create a unique hip hop sound all of his own, he has consciously stepped away from the expected standardisation of the music industry to create something new.

The latest example of his unusual sound is his track ‘Survivor’, a fittingly named single about overcoming adversity to make a better life for yourself – a subject with which BowLDN has a lot of experience.

https://soundcloud.com/bowldnmusic/bowldn-survivor-prod-by-dj-shaw

Diagnosed with learning difficulties at a relatively late stage in his schooling, BowLDN was initially told by his mainstream school that he wouldn’t pass his GCSE exams. Taking the important decision to leave behind a school who had lost faith, he studied for his GCSEs at a YMCA training school, eventually passing each subject and specialising in music.

Moving on to college, he once again found himself lost in the shuffle, and getting in with the wrong crowd. A scrape with the law left him sentenced to one year’s probation and 30 hours community service.

Encouraged as part of his sentence to join a drama group called Bare Truths, BowLDN met a supportive group of people who allowed him to express himself creatively for perhaps the first time. Once his sentence was up, and he was no longer required to attend the group, he continued anyway – learning with each session and honing his creative outlet.

This work has allowed him to express himself through his music, the result being the new track ‘Survivor’. It’s a fitting song for someone who has worked hard against the odds and come out with something to show for it.

BowLDN has gone from school struggles, to probation to developing himself into a talented urban songwriter – an admirable transition which has seen him featured in mainstream publications such as The Guardian.

The next step is the release of ‘Survivor’ on June 22nd. From there – who knows?
