‘Dead Days’ Have Arrived, And They’re Ready To Fight!

British Heavy Rock band ‘Dead Days’ have just dropped a new single from their latest EP titled ‘Fight‘, adding to the long list of projects from the three-piece.

Starting in May of 2016, the trio have worked hard and put so much care and effort into their love for music, whether its song-writing, playing live or recording, they have proven that they are a force that has no means of stopping. Their electrifying, yet superbly unique compositions have helped gain a reputation, as well as experience in interesting ways. Travis Marc, Drummer and Lead vocalist has been a music lover for a long time, and has had a solo outing, as well as winning a competition to record a song with Billy Talent in Canada in which he helped produce ‘Six Feet Under’ which we used as a B side, so you can trust these guys when it comes to the music.

What also makes this trio unstoppable is how they pull together and each have their own divisions within the band. Travis is also a drum and guitar tech, providing a lot from the technical as well as the writing side, DC, the bassist and brother of Travis, runs the creative side in art and graphic design, which is a heavy feature within the bands arsenal, and James Mattock, who is a long time friend of Travis after they met working in a bar in London, is lead guitarist with a unique and potent style.

Be sure to check out their debut Album ‘Start Over Again’, as well as their brand new EP ‘All Your Lies’ available on the 25th of September on their website.

Eight legged London based mob Reverted are unveil their new video for the Monster Magnet classic “Bummer”

Following on from the huge success of their latest release “Sputter The Worms” the band have returned with a track very dear to their collective hearts.

The band had this to say on the cover:
“Covering music from the bands you like is always fun and exciting, but trying to do justice to it is another matter completely. We wanted a song that felt right; that was executed to the level it deserved, something we could turn into a high energy beast onstage, and most importantly a song that we all liked playing. Monster Magnet has always been that unique band as far as influence goes with Reverted. I guess it was just a matter of time before we did something like this.

‘The Hydra’s Tailor’ – Heavy new album – Deadly Circus Fire

12 track album due on June 16th through Musicarchy Media

Described by Metal Hammer as “one of the most imaginative and formidable” heavy rock bands currently plying their trade, Deadly Circus Fire are a London based band who thrive on getting stronger and stronger in their battle with the mainstream. Their sound has been compared to the likes of Tool, Mastodon and the Deftones, mixing heavy guitar rock with melodious moments to create something special.

PRimageIt takes something special to turn heads at publications like Metal Hammer, who nominated them at Bloodstock Festival 2011 for ‘Best Upcoming Band’. Meanwhile, Classic Rock described Deadly Circus Fire as “one of the most striking young prog metal bands to come on the scene in the past couple of years”. For a taste of what Deadly Circus Fire are all about, here’s the video for album track ‘House of Plagues’:

It’s clear that Deadly Circus Fire are a band with the genuine potential to make a mark on the metal music scene. They’ve already supported huge cult band Skindred on a European tour, counting it among their career highlights so far, while Skindred vocalist Benji Webbe has said he’d like to collaborate with them in the future.

Deadly Circus Fire also previously caused quite a stir by performing in zombie clown make up, inkeeping with their creepy moniker – itself inspired by a true life event in 1944 which claimed the lives of 200 people and injured more than 700.

In time though, the music of Deadly Circus Fire has evolved to speak for itself, making a huge impact both live and in the studio without the need for such on stage histrionics.

Wings of Pegasus new rock track ‘That’s Metal (To My Ears)’

Wings of Pegasus

Hard rock with an 80s twist inspired by the likes of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Dokken and more, Wings of Pegasus are a rock band with a big sound and a fresh approach to the music industry. With new single ‘That’s Metal (To My Ears)’ due in May, the band are running a campaign called ‘Make Chart History’, aiming to take the independent release to the very top of the charts, all the while donating the proceeds to Cancer Research UK.

Hoping to whip up a groundswell of support, songwriter Fil Henley is working hard to spread the word on the campaign as well as the single itself – an independently produced homage to old 80’s bands with big hair and screeching guitar solos. Designed to encourage listeners to dust off the air guitar, it’s great fun and the most light hearted track on the ‘Persistence’ album, which is out now.

  • Single from debut album ‘Persistence’ out May 10th
  • Raising money for Cancer Research UK through the ‘Make Chart History’ Campaign

The hard work is also typified by Fil Henley’s dedication to conversing personally with all the fans on Twitter, and with the number of followers standing at over 50,000, that’s a lot of messages! It doesn’t hurt that the band have the talent to back up the graft, as proven by their appearance in the final of the ‘Unsigned Festival 2010’ at the IndigO2 venue. Finishing 3rd out of 12,000 bands, it was a huge boost to the group who haven’t looked back since.

Modern Family Unit ready to revitalise modern New Wave with single ‘Mmm mmm mm aah’

MFU Press shot - plain 2015

Single taken from upcoming album ‘Religion’, released April 27th

Manchester based duo Gary Hilton and Steve Southern are a songwriting duo who know how to make an impact. Marrying the classic 80s sounds of the New Wave to contemporary production values, their groove led, synth heavy tunes are dripping with atmosphere, rightly described by the band themselves as a ‘Burlesque groove’.

It’s a phrase which perfectly sums up the retro stylings and the filthy rhythms of both the band as a whole and their upcoming single ‘Mmm mmm mm aah’. Influenced by the likes of New Order, Depeche Mode and Joy Division as well as the theatricality of Gorillaz.

For a sneak peek at the new track, watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiqrIiz8jq0

An extremely talented pair with legitimate pedigree in the industry their fans include Factory Records founder and New Order collaborator Mark Reeder and Mercury Award nominated producer Dave Maughan (Maximo Park, Kathryn Williams) who even leant a hand with the production process. Experienced hands who know their way around the music business, this is a crowd who aren’t easy to impress, yet Modern Family Unit do it thanks to an old school approach based on both talent and respect for the music.

On top of that, the pair have a fiercely independent streak which prevents their tracks from sounding like everything else out there. Previous experiences with a record label – a two album deal just over ten years ago – ended badly, leaving a mistrust of the mainstream way of working. As Modern Family Unit, they’re now looking to make their own way as a pair who know they have each other’s backs.

And it’s a method that’s working. With a TV ad sync deal in the pipeline and great connections within the industry, Modern Family Unit are a band you’re likely to be hearing of sooner than later.

New single ‘ Mmm mmm mm aah’ will be release on March 23rd, with the album ‘Religion’ to follow on April 27th.

By Definition single ‘Warrior’ due early June, following ‘The Concerns of Mortal Man’ LP (May 26th)

Brighton metalheads offer their first releases since debut EP ‘Over Clocked, Under Threat’.

Having played Hard Rock Festival in Ibiza, and with giants like Black Label Society and Black Stone Cherry, five piece By Definition are really starting to get the recognition they deserve.

No strangers to the heavy rock bear pit they create with their live shows, their sets are notorious for their energy and originality. With an eye-catching front man described as ‘cool as sh*t’ by Underground Reviews, one memorable show in Holland also saw guitarist Rob smash two of his guitars within 30 minutes…

Single ‘Warrior’ is a stomping, anthemic track driven by a hard, chugging melody reminiscent of the aformentioned Black Stone Cherry. Officially released early June, you can take a listen on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/bydefinition/warrior

The new album, ‘The Concerns of Mortal Men’, was born from a new found self-assurance the band have recently found in their sound.

Frontman Si puts it less subtly: “We don’t give a shit what people think anymore”.

‘The Concerns of Mortal Men’ finds the band trying to bridge the gap between rock and metal whilst taking influences from hip-hop rhythms and technical inspirations from electronic music. Their biggest project to date, they have brought in Alan Douches (Motorhead, The Defiled Cannibal Corpse, Black Dahlia Murder) to master the album.

Beyond making great music, having an original live set and developing a strong following, By Definition are not your every day rock band. All self-confessed comic book geeks, Dan has a degree in theatre writing while Rob (guitar) produces electronic music in his spare time. Meanwhile, Si (vocals) has a passion for loose leaf tea – a hobby which once got him stopped at customs while they analysed a stash of green brown leaves he had with him…

‘The Concerns of Mortal Man’ LP is out May 26th, followed by single ‘Warrior’ in early June.

Press quotes:

Black Label Society styled, whiskey soaked, dirty rock”.
Rock Sound

“Straight-forward, heavy-hitting and down right filthy. Each song shit-kicks you with punishing riffage, bombastic drumming and a whiskey-swilling attitude”.
Heavy Planet

“Best described as the 30 year old you’re not entirely sure you invited to your party, who has drunk all the beer…You may not have invited him, but frankly, he doesn’t care and you kind of want to get to know him anyway…”
Noise Addiction

Tour dates:

26th May – Sticky Mikes – Brighton

28th May – Bar 42 – Worthing

30th May – The Hermit Club – Brentwood

31st May – Asylum – Hereford

3rd June – Bull & Vic – Dartford
