‘Dead Days’ Have Arrived, And They’re Ready To Fight!

British Heavy Rock band ‘Dead Days’ have just dropped a new single from their latest EP titled ‘Fight‘, adding to the long list of projects from the three-piece.

Starting in May of 2016, the trio have worked hard and put so much care and effort into their love for music, whether its song-writing, playing live or recording, they have proven that they are a force that has no means of stopping. Their electrifying, yet superbly unique compositions have helped gain a reputation, as well as experience in interesting ways. Travis Marc, Drummer and Lead vocalist has been a music lover for a long time, and has had a solo outing, as well as winning a competition to record a song with Billy Talent in Canada in which he helped produce ‘Six Feet Under’ which we used as a B side, so you can trust these guys when it comes to the music.

What also makes this trio unstoppable is how they pull together and each have their own divisions within the band. Travis is also a drum and guitar tech, providing a lot from the technical as well as the writing side, DC, the bassist and brother of Travis, runs the creative side in art and graphic design, which is a heavy feature within the bands arsenal, and James Mattock, who is a long time friend of Travis after they met working in a bar in London, is lead guitarist with a unique and potent style.

Be sure to check out their debut Album ‘Start Over Again’, as well as their brand new EP ‘All Your Lies’ available on the 25th of September on their website.

‘Belinda’ by vintage-rockers Albino

London based vintage rock band Albino are hitting us with their new track ‘Belinda’, taken from their whiskey fuelled new album Night At The Chemist.

Yes that was whiskey! Albino’s main aim is to entertain with their rambunctious, often humorous ‘drinking’ music.

Their latest track ‘Belinda’ exudes this throwback, vintage feel that sounds like it could have come straight out of the 60’s.

Consisting of Ben Tucker (guitar/vocals), Merv ‘Fuzzy’ Salole (Bass), Gareth ‘gwEM’ Morris (guitar) and Don Gibson (percussion), Albino’s sole aim is to entertain with their rambunctious, often humorous ‘drinking’ music. As the main songwriter in the outfit, Ben is the driving inspirational force, tapping into a deep well of life experiences that draw on topics as diverse as love, deviancy, distrust of priests, historical events and of course, drinking.

Since they began in 2005, Albino has undergone a musical metamorphosis, travelling a long way from their humble beginnings, but now, the off-the-wall band has cemented their style and truly found their own sound. Whilst Albino’s eclectic and multi-talented musical line up has changed over the years, this latest track proves their musical direction, commitment and energy has always remained constant.

Adam Lanceley donates proceeds from new album to charity

London based singer songwriter, Adam Lanceley, is releasing his latest record, Back To The Sunshine, from which he is donating all sales to The Brain and Spine Foundation, a charity that is close to Adam’s heart.

During his childhood, Adam was involved in a serious car crash that left him with severe head injuries. His parents worried as Doctors told them Adam would never walk or talk again, but he managed to defy all the odds, recovering to such an extent that he now runs 10ks and has even completed the London Marathon for Brain and Spine.

Aside from running though, Adam turned to music to express a lot of the emotions he was feeling as he grew up and quickly found that he had an affinity for punchy, yet cryptic lyrics.

With 5 albums to his name already, ‘Back To The Sunshine’ picks up where Adam left off last time, continuing to develop his summery guitar led sound that is best exhibited on the new single, ‘A Film We All Saw.’ Lightly strummed chords transport listeners away to brighter days, something Adam tries to encapsulate in his ‘West Coast’ sound.

Whilst artists’ previous and personal experiences are often the bases of their songwriting, Adam has delved deep into his childhood to memorable locations like Devon and Yorkshire for many of the ideas on the new EP. Creating a mystical grandeur of time through these memories, there is a depth of field and subtext to Adam’s music beyond the instrumentation.

The New Album From Matt Boroff

American born, but Austrian based musician-extraordinaire, Matt Boroff, is back with his third album to date, Grand Delusion, which is a tour de force from start to finish.

Having rubbed shoulders with some of the best in the business back in the 90s and sharing stages with the likes of Nirvana and Kyuss, Matt is a musician with a wealth of experience in his hands. Since then, after the dissolution of his high-school band in 1995, Matt has been focusing on honing his craftsmanship as a songwriter, going on to form Matt Boroff and The Mirrors.

‘What A Shame’ is a highlight from the album, showing just what Matt is capable of. Opening with a desert-esque blues intro, Matt drops the song into walls of distorted guitar and pounding drums, eventually evolving the track into some kind of 90s grunge, modern rock hybrid. It’s quite the beast.

The group toured Europe extensively, sharing the bills with rock titans such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Calexico. However in 2010, Boroff decided to go solo, releasing two solo LPs, one EP and now ‘Grand Delusion’ which is set for release May 5th.

Matt will be performing a headline show in London at the Old Blue Last February 6th.

Bayonesse Release ‘Angel Touching Down’

No stranger to the dramatic, lead vocalist Christy Lee Rogers, is taking a pause from her hectic fine art career as an underwater artist, to collaborate with fellow artist and musician Ryan Murphy – forming the alternative indie rock band Bayonesse.

Rogers is known internationally by the press as the contemporary version of Baroque artists like Caravaggio.  Murphy, the owner and designer of rocker jewellery line Silver Luthier and front man for the rock band Forty Point, originally came into the band as producer to help structure Rogers’ vision, and eventually stayed on to solidify the duo.

In search of peace and understanding within a crazy, vulnerable, yet beautiful world, the pair have shifted their passions to the medium of music – harnessing the most “powerful and intense” art form in which to express their thoughts and emotions.

Their debut alternative rock single ‘Angel Touching Down’ from their upcoming album ‘Bleeding Heart’ is accompanied by a dark and avant garde underwater music video filmed and directed by Rogers.

The music video, starring actress Elisabeth Donaldson and Bayonesse themselves, and edited by award winning filmmaker Ray Izad-Mehr, gives life to the darkness and turmoil underlying their heart-felt lyrics. Completely unaltered and un-coloured, the footage is raw out of the camera, with a frenetic and stylized editing technique.

Rogers’ fine art work has been featured in the likes of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, The Independent, Global Times and more. And Murphy’s rocker jewelry can be seen on Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, the guitar of James Hettfield of Metallica, and more.

Bayonesse have a wide range of musical influences including: Muse, Bjork, Imagine Dragons, to The Kills, Smashing Pumpkins, Ludovico Einaudi, Massive Attack and Metric. Through their diverse backgrounds and influences, they have formed a unique and unusual sound

‘Home’ by James Kennedy

Welsh singer-songwriter, James Kennedy, has returned to the world of music with his storming solo album, Home.

If Kennedy looks a little familiar, then you might recognise him from hard-rock band, Kyshera, who have found success in alternative circles in past years. However, with Home, James is moving away from his former style, instead adopting a more melodic rock sound, yet still driven by his powerful vocals.

The touring lifestyle with Kyshera proved difficult to handle for James which led to a period of depression for the talented songwriter. However, he managed to relieve his suffering by using songwriting as an outlet of release, eventually creating the beautifully crafted Home in just a few months.

Kennedy had serious hearing problems as a child, resulting in 3 major surgeries and the fear of permanent hearing loss always in the back of his mind. This led to his school life being interrupted, so James became an adept self-learner which he applied to learning guitar, vocals, piano, bass and music production. The self-taught musician was soon accepted to Welsh College of Music & Drama, before working in a recording studio where he used his skills to form his own label, Konic Records.

With an enticing range of powerful and gentle rock songs, it will be interesting to see how Kennedy has reinvented a style of music that has seemingly disappeared in recent years.

Home is out 31st March and you can check out James and his music here:

Corinna Jane’s Rock-Infused ‘Three Faces of You’

Corinna Jane is making waves in the popular music scene with her unmistakably individual rock-pop style, which is best exhibited on her latest guitar driven single, ‘Three Faces of You’.

Having grown up in the MTV era of the 90s, Corinna has always been drawn to music and by the age of five she was already taking singing and piano lessons. It wasn’t long after that she began writing her own songs as a teenager and finding her own unique style as a musician.

‘Three Faces of You’ is a stormer of a track blending clever lyricism on Corinna’s part, along with an intriguing blend of violins and electric guitar. The track focuses on a former relationship with someone who seemed to live in their own fantasy world, with unpredictable tendencies. Consequently, Corinna’s track has a true, relatable meaning to it as well as features of quality musicianship and songwriting.

The keen actress, model and radio presenter has a quirky style and personality, which has led to her receiving airplay on the likes of BBC Radio 6, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing and making the top 5 solo artists at the Rock The House Competition.
